Sipping and Tasting with The Halal Guys NYC

What is all the hype about? Food Truck? Halal Guys 6thAve & 53rd Street Manhattan

It’s a beautiful Saturday in New York City, a definite Central Park day.

Spring is in the air, and it’s time to commence our “Take out to the park series.” The question I need to answer is, what’s the hype about the Halal Guys food truck?

The legendary cart has been operating in New York City for over 30 years. It’s one of the top bucket list items for foodies, locals, and tourists alike. The lines are long, but the cart’s reputation is known all over the world.

Did it live up to the hype?

On my walk to Central Park, I stopped at the Halal Guys food truck on 6th & 53rd. I ordered a gyro combo platter served with a healthy serving of beef gyro slices and shredded chicken over a mound of richly colored yellow rice and shredded lettuce. Let’s not forget the toppings, chopped tomatoes, extra white sauce, and the hottest spicy red sauce I ever had.

How was it?

I’m in Halal heaven; if you like a mouth full of flavor and heat, this is the meal for you.  The Halal Guys are the originals, so be careful there are a lot of impersonators out there. Grab a cold drink while you are at it; you are going to need it; trust me.  Sipping and Tasting gives the Halal Guys a rose ðŸŒ¹
